Shockers Prevail, 2-0, Over Orlando
|
The Los Angeles Shockers topped the Orlando Rugrats, 2-0, in Major Conference action at Shockadome. The standout performance belonged to Los Angeles pitcher and Baltimore, Maryland, native Ken Caffey. Los Angeles goes to 38-27. The win puts them 3½ games up in their division.
The Shockers got a big at-bat from third baseman Lonnie Cook. For the game, Cook was 1 for 3 with a home run. In the bottom of the third, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Los Angeles a 1-0 lead.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Cook said after the game.
