The Boston Beaneaters got a stellar performance from pitcher Jeremy Byers, who handcuffed the New York offense en route to a win, 6-0, at Fenway Park. Byers got the win, improving to 7-2. He allowed 3 hits and walked 6 over 6.1 innings. Byers allowed no runs. The win elevated the Beaneaters to 47-21.

The Beaneaters got an important contribution from third baseman Lynn Buck, who in the bottom of the fourth punched a full count slider into left-center for a run-scoring double. It was his 6th double of the season and put the Beaneaters ahead, 2-0.

"Enjoyed this one," Buck told the Boston Daily News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
