|
The home team gave their fans plenty to cheer about, with a thrilling walk-off win.
The Miami Stars got a magnificent effort from pitcher Ken Fitzgerald, who kept Florida hitters in check en route to a 2-1 Stars win at Ballpark of Miami. The winner in relief was Ricardo Osuna. He is now 3-0. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings.
Miami won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With two outs and Woody Francis on the mound for Florida, designated hitter Esteban Ruiz hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Stars fans to their feet.
"We battled our tails off to get this win," said Miami manager Ryne Solo Jr..
With the win, Miami upped its record to 36-36.
