New York starter Mark Stevens put a stranglehold on the Texas offense. The right-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Knights to a 5-1 win. Stevens got the win, improving to 8-3. He allowed 2 hits and walked 3 over 5.2 innings. Stevens allowed 1 run. This win makes it 5 in a row for New York.

New York took advantage of an error in the top of the sixth inning. The game was tied, 1-1, when Michael Vaughn hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put New York in front, 2-1.

"Mark was pounding the zone," said New York manager Gabriel Gonzalez.
