Gunfighters Rally Past Colts for 1-0 Series Lead
|
The Texas Gunfighters slipped past the Baltimore Colts by the score of 6-4 today at Ballpark of Texas in the first game of the Wildcard Series. Texas had to overcome a strong effort from Baltimore third baseman Fausto Thibodeaux, who went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice in the loss. With a 1-0 lead in the best-of-3 series, the Gunfighters will have two chances to close out the Colts.
Lou Miller was the walk-off hero for Texas. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Gunfighters left fielder hit a dramatic 2-run home run to send the teams home.
"It was a good day but I'm not letting my guard down," Miller said. "I'll let my guard down as soon as someone puts a big, fat championship ring on my finger."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ballpark of Baltimore in Baltimore.
