Hawks Clip Gamblers 3-2 in R1 Contest
The Charlotte Hawks topped the Las Vegas Gamblers by the score of 3-2 and moved into a 1-1 tie in the Wildcard Series today. The largest share of the credit belongs to Charlotte starter Malcolm Sherman, who threw 6.0 innings allowing 1 runs in the win.

Simon Burgos, who finished 3rd in the MC in slugging percentage with .605 in 2017, aided the Charlotte cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth. For the game, the first baseman was 1-4.

Burgos attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Gambler Field in Las Vegas.
