Wildcard Series Game 1 Victory for Tonka and New York
|
The Wildcard Series got off to a quiet start today, with the host New York Cobra taking a low-scoring 2-0 win over the Orlando Rugrats. New York right-hander Silvanos Tonka was marvelous at Cobra Stadium. The Cobra now hold a 1-0 lead in the best-of-3 series.
Steven Stephens chipped in for New York with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"I felt we were ready to go," said New York manager Chad White. "Our pregame was pretty good."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Carpet Kingdom in Orlando.
