The Utah Utes got a strong performance from pitcher Fernando Hernandez Jr., who stymied the New York offense en route to a 7-0 win in Game 2 of the Division Series today. The Knights could never get a bead on the left-handed Hernandez Jr., who threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. The Utes now hold a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 series.

Hernandez Jr. allowed no runs over 6 innings. He also racked up 7 strikeouts.

"We're one game closer to our goal," Utah manager Battle Trap said later. "It isn't any more complicated than that."

The next game is set to be played for Monday, October 16th , 2023 at Popcorn Dome in Salt Lake City.
