Stoger, Devils Sink Bandits Again in Game 2
Riding the 2-hit performance of shortstop Phil Stoger, the Detroit Devils stopped the visiting Bay Area Bandits, 8-5, in Game 2 of the League Series today. Stoger went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Devils, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 0.

Detroit grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Dave Farrell delivered a run-scoring double, to make it 3-2 in favor of the Devils.

"They say the first rule of the playoffs is to win the home games," Farrell said afterward. "It feels nice, but it is kind of what we were supposed to do."

Game 3 is scheduled for Monday at Bandits Park in San Francisco.
