Eyebiters Post 4-3 Win Over Las Vegas
The Mars Eyebiters defeated the Las Vegas Gamblers, 4-3, in Superior Conference action at Gambler Field. Mars pitcher Kris Smith had a standout performance. Jose De La Cerda, credited with the win, is now 3-1. He allowed 2 runs on 2 hits. Pedro Cruz notched his 17th save in 19 chances.

Mars used the timely hitting of Craig Contreras to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Eyebiters on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Contreras attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."

The Eyebiters, at 41-47, sit in third place in the Superior Conference Western Division.
