Penguins Need Extra Frames to Get Past Devils
Florida Penguins starter Nicholas Hilton pitched a strong game against the Detroit Devils at Devils Stadium, leading the Penguins to victory, 8-7. The winner was Michael James in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Randy Forbes took the loss. The Penguins, at 42-48, sit in last place in the Major Conference Eastern Division.

Florida needed the clutch hitting of Conn Barbarian to notch the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the 18th inning to put the Penguins on top, 8-6. For the game, Barbarian had 1 home run and 2 singles in 8 at-bats.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Barbarian.
