Fans who congregated at Ballpark of Texas were treated to extra-inning drama.

The Mars Eyebiters did just enough to sneak past the Texas Gunfighters, 4-3, at Ballpark of Texas. Mars pitcher Fred Leonard, in particular, had a standout performance. Jose De La Cerda came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. His record now stands at 1-3.

Patrick Coote, the 24-year old third baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Coote contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put Mars up, 4-3.

Texas manager Pudge Fernandez said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.

Mars is now 40-52, Texas 39-55.
