Boston Sweeps into the Division Series
|
Depending on your loyalties, the Wildcard Series was either a lot of fun or a lot of frustration.
There wasn't much of a fight put up, with the Boston Beaneaters taking a drama-free, 2-0 sweep of the New York Knights.
"We're in good shape going into the Division Series," said Boston pitcher R.D. Phillips, after his team won the final game by a 8-4 count. "If we play like this going forward, we'll definitely win the Championship Series."
Phillips earned series MVP honors, with a 0.00 ERA over 7.1 innings pitched, with a 1-0 record.
The Boston Beaneaters will play against the Miami Stars in the next round. Miami had a bye in the Wildcard Series. The Division Series schedule will be announced after the Wildcard Series finishes.Phillips earned series MVP honors, with a 0.00 ERA over 7.1 innings pitched, with a 1-0 record.
