The Cleveland Spiders started the Division Series in style today, downing the visiting Baltimore Colts at Cleveland Grounds by a score of 4-3 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Spiders center fielder Malcolm Thomas was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs.

Aaron Moore, who finished 5th in the SC in runs with 107 in 2017, aided the Cleveland cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the first baseman went 1 for 4.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Moore. "And not try to do too much."

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at Cleveland Grounds. The scheduled starters for the game are Jeremy Hartman for Baltimore and Tim Goff for Cleveland.
