The Miami Stars started the Division Series in style today, downing the visiting Toledo Mud Hens at Ballpark of Miami by a score of 10-7 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Stars left fielder Justin Alexander was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

Miami took a 8-7 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning, when Todd Gibbs hit a clutch 2-run home run to bring Stars fans to their feet.

"There was a kid in the stands with a sign that said 'Miami Stars (probably) 2021 Championship Series Champions'," Gibbs told reporters after the game. "I told him, 'Premature, but I like the confidence.'"

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ballpark of Miami in Miami.
