MacElheran, Alaska Open R2 Strong with 4-2 Win
The Alaska Snow Sox started the Division Series in style today, downing the visiting Portland Decepticons at The Igloo by a score of 4-2 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Snow Sox second baseman Vincent MacElheran went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

MacElheran had a consequential at-bat in the bottom of the first for the Snow Sox. Coming up with a runner on 2nd and Alaska trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run home run.

"Things broke our way today and that's great," Snow Sox manager Todd Reynolds said. "It's important, though, to stay focused and not pat yourself on the back too much. We aren't done yet."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Igloo in Anchorage.
