In a crucial game, the Portland Decepticons put on their best show, beating the Alaska Snow Sox by a final score of 4-3 today. Albert Anderson threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Portland and Alaska are now tied at 2 wins apiece in the best-of-5 affair.

Had Virgil Blanchard not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Blanchard hit a grand slam home run. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Decepticons.

Alaska manager Todd Reynolds said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.

Game 5 is scheduled for Tuesday at The Igloo in Anchorage.
