Elzy, Miami Open R4 Strong with 6-3 Win
|
The Miami Stars started the Championship Series in style today, downing the visiting Hollywood B's at Ballpark of Miami by a score of 6-3 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Stars right-hander Scott Elzy threw 5.0 innings allowing 3 runs.
Todd Gibbs had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the sixth for Miami. He came through with a 3-run home run to put Miami in front, 5-3.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Elzy said.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ballpark of Miami in Miami.
