Haney on a Rampage, Hits for Cycle
Getting 4 hits in a game is no easy feat, but doing it to hit for the cycle is even more rare.

Dave Haney of the Phoenix Autobots pulled it off today at Mars Field, going 4-for-5 against the Mars Eyebiters. His batting escapades sparked the Autobots to a 7-4 victory.

Haney tallied 2 runs and drove in 3 during the game. Hitting for the cycle is particularly rare because of the different skills required - enough power for a home run, enough speed for a triple and enough patience at the plate to see at least four hittable balls.

"It just happened," Haney said to reporters after the win. "Must have been fate or something, I wasn't expecting it. Heck, I wasn't even really trying for it."

Dave Haney doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, tripled in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Pedro Cruz in the 9th.

So far this year Haney has 18 home runs and a .246 batting average.
