Eyebiters Roll to 8-1 Win Over Isotopes
The home crowd had a good time watching the Springfield Isotopes and Mars Eyebiters get after it.

The Mars Eyebiters picked up a win at Mars Field, knocking off the Springfield Isotopes, 8-1. Starting pitcher Fred Leonard played a key role in the triumph. The Eyebiters move to 45-54 with the win, while the Isotopes drop to 44-54.

The Eyebiters got a big at-bat from left fielder Mark Lee. For the game, Lee was 1-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 18th home run of the season gave Mars a 3-0 lead.

"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Leonard. "Successful pitchers do it."
