Decepticons Prevail, 6-4, Over Hollywood
|
The Portland Decepticons topped the Hollywood B's by the score of 6-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to left fielder Ronald Franks. Franks was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2 for the Decepticons on the day. Portland reliever John Wilkins picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Fozzy Wacha shouldered the loss. Eric Richardson was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 2 save opportunities.
Virgil Blanchard, who finished 5th in the MC in on-base percentage with .380 in 2021, aided the Portland cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the first baseman went 2-4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.
"We're feeling good in this clubhouse right now after that one," Blanchard told the Portland News.
