In a close game at Ballpark of Miami, the Miami Stars edged the Louisville Sluggers, 5-4. Miami shortstop Jeff Meyers stood apart with his performance. He was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Ricardo Osuna, now 4-2, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0. Miami is in last place in the Superior Conference Eastern Division with a record of 49-54.
The Stars procured the win, in large part because of center fielder Vicente Saenz. In the bottom of the 11th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"What a buzz," said Saenz after it was over.
