Great Day for Saldana -- 5 Hits
Fans at Gambler Field got to see not only a home-team victory today, but also one of the most impressive feats of hitting of the season.

The Las Vegas Gamblers outplayed the Miami Stars en route to a 18-1 win, but the standout was right fielder Raul Saldana. Saldana netted 5 hits in 5 at-bats and finished with a dynamite game line.

"Hey, we tried everything we could think of to get him out," Stars manager Ryne Solo Jr. said in postgame comments. "We threw everything but the kitchen sink against him and he hit it. Maybe we should've thrown the sink, too."

Raul Saldana hit a two-run single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and walked in the 8th.

This year Saldana is hitting .249 with 8 home runs and 38 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .295 clip and scored 38 runs.
