Autobots Turn Back Boston, 4-2
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Phoenix Autobots and Boston Beaneaters.
The Phoenix Autobots beat the Boston Beaneaters, 4-2, at Ballpark of Arizona. The win was due in part to catcher Ryan Gambeski, who was 1-2 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Phoenix reliever Ralph Everett picked up the win, raising his record to 5-3. Cristobal Gonzalez was tagged with the loss. Pedro Cruz converted his 2nd save in 5 tries.
Gambeski had a timely hit for Phoenix in the bottom of the seventh. With Boston trailing 2-1, he turned a full count cutter into a 3-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season, making it 4-2, Phoenix.
Gambeski told a Phoenix Observer reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
With the win, Phoenix raised its record to 59-51.
