Toledo rode a good effort from starter Leonilde Ascensio to beat the Mars Eyebiters at Toledo Ballpark. The final score was 5-2. Ascensio went 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 3, and struck out 7. His record improves to 2-0. Jesus Palmeiro picked up the save for Toledo, his 5th of the year.

The Mud Hens got a big at-bat from center fielder Cary Lee. For the game, Lee was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Toledo a 3-1 lead.
