Guzman Stars in 6-4 Spiders Win
|
Cleveland second baseman Jose Guzman played a vital role in his team's 6-4 triumph over Alaska. He went 2 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for Cleveland. Cleveland reliever Rafael Romero picked up the win, upping his record to 6-8. Tony Bastard took the loss. David Lewis got the save, his 20th in 25 chances.
Guzman had a timely hit for Cleveland in the bottom of the eighth. With Alaska trailing 4-3, he turned a 1-1 fastball into a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season, making it 6-4, Cleveland.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Guzman told the Cleveland Daily News. "It's as simple as that."
The Spiders sport a record of 40-74.
