Rugrats Prevail, 7-5, Over St. Louis
|
The Orlando Rugrats weathered an outstanding game by St. Louis second baseman Anibal Otero to topple the Robins, 7-5. Otero was 2 for 2 with a double and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI. Jesus Martinez got credit for the win, improving to 6-3. He allowed 4 runs on 7 hits in 5 innings. Art Hughes converted his 2nd save in 2 tries.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Eric Kelley? The Orlando designated hitter had a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Rugrats on top, 7-4. For the game, Kelley had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"Hustle and hard work is a big part of our success," said Kelley. "Those qualities define our team."
Orlando bumps their record to 54-62 with the win.
