Colts Deal Stars 2-1 Loss
|
The Miami Stars wasted an impressive 8.1-inning effort from starter Greg Kosman, falling 2-1 to the Baltimore Colts at Ballpark of Miami. Peter Johnson earned the win for Baltimore. He lasted 6.2 innings, allowing 1 run on 6 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 10-10. Bob Flynn was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 28 of 33 save opportunities.
Baltimore used a timely hit from Jorge Cendejas to get the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Colts ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.
Cendejas called the triumph "a good team win."
The victory gives Baltimore a record of 61-59.
