Gamblers Stumble, Lose to Eyebiters
The Mars Eyebiters beat the Las Vegas Gamblers, 10-3, at Gambler Field. The win was due in part to shortstop Trevor Wood, who went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Picking up the win was Artie Washington. He went 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits. The right--hander struck out 3 and walked 3. The 4th-place Eyebiters raised their record to 51-67.

Mars relied on the hitting of Stewart Matthews to pick up the win. The center fielder clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Eyebiters on top, 5-0. For the game, Matthews had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
