Tight Tilt Goes to Robins, 2-1
|
The St. Louis Robins got a strong performance from pitcher Fred Kelly, who stymied the Green Day offense en route to a win, 2-1, at Robins Nest. St. Louis raised its record to 60-59 with the win.
Vince Murphy aided the St. Louis cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the first baseman drove in one run.
"We'll put that win in the can," said Murphy, "and go after the next one."
