Devils Get Past New York for 7-6 Win
With first baseman Chris Murray leading the charge, the Detroit Devils defeated the New York Cobra, 7-6, at Devils Stadium. Murray, who is tied for 8th in the MC in total bases with 226, went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Alonso Romo was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 31 of 36 save opportunities. The win elevated the Devils to 69-52.

Detroit took a 7-6 lead on Dave Farrell's 20th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off New York pitcher Elmer Stephens in the bottom of the eighth.

"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Murray told the Detroit Gazette.
