Guerra Excels, But Dukes Win
Green Day beat Alaska in a rain-soaked ballgame.

The Green Day Dukes had to overcome a big game from Alaska shortstop Jesus Guerra to leave Duke Stadium with a victory. And they did, winning 11-10. Guerra went 4 for 5 with 3 doubles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Green Day reliever Drew Hankins was credited with the win, to go to 2-1. Alex Rodriguez took the loss for Alaska.

Steve Gray, who finished 3rd in the MC in triples with 10 in 2022, helped out the Green Day cause in the bottom of the eighth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the second baseman went 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3.

"We take it day by day here," said Gray, "and today was a good one for us."

The Dukes improved to 58-69.
