Gamblers Deal Autobots 7-5 Loss
|
Michael Rondon was a vital contributor to the 7-5 Las Vegas victory over Phoenix. The Gamblers first baseman was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Sidney Jackson, who went 6.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 5 runs on 7 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 2. His record now stands at 5-0. Jason Moore was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 36 of 41 save opportunities.
Las Vegas used the timely hitting of Jaime Lannister to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Gamblers on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We take it day by day here," said Lannister, "and today was a good one for us."
