Devils Earn 3-2 Win Versus Dukes
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Detroit Devils and Green Day Dukes.
The Green Day Dukes got a superb performance from pitcher Kade Lewis, but the Detroit Devils still won the game, 3-2. Lewis threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. Detroit pitcher Larry Presley got the win, upping his record to 1-1. Woody White got the loss.
Runs were few and far between in this one. So, Phil Stoger's at-bat with two out in the top of the ninth was crucial. The Detroit shortstop reached on an error by the 2B, driving in 1 run, to give his team a 3-2 lead.
"Enjoyed this one," Stoger told the Detroit Herald. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
Detroit, now 60-71, holds down 4th place in the Major Conference Central Division.
