Annett, Rabbits Get 2-1 Win
|
The Denver Rabbits went home winners at Mile Long Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Jerry Annett. Annett stifled the Detroit Devils, enabling Denver to grab the 2-1 win. Ruben Rodriguez got the save, his 2nd in 3 chances. Denver improves to 78-56 with the win. They lead their division by 11½ games.
Annett, a native of Pedley, California, was dealing all game. He kept Detroit hitters off-balance, while giving the Rabbits 6.2 quality innings. Annett threw 81 pitches, allowing 2 hits and striking out 7.
"I like what I saw today," said Denver manager Brian Woods, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
