The Charlotte Hawks defeated the Texas Gunfighters, 7-4, in Superior Conference action at Ballpark of Texas. Charlotte pitcher Antonio Rodriguez had a standout performance. Adrian Banuelos notched his 40th save in 46 chances. The win gives Charlotte a season record of 77-61.

Robert Gardner, the 25-year old catcher , had a direct impact on the outcome. Gardner contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put Charlotte up, 2-0.

In postgame comments, Gardner told the Charlotte Gazette: "Do people still doubt I give 100 percent?"
