Big Day for Taylor as Colts Down Cobra, 6-2
|
The Baltimore Colts beat the New York Cobra, 6-2, at Cobra Stadium. The Colts got a fine performance from center fielder Bill Taylor, who went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. George Taylor, the winner, improved to 4-5. He held the Cobra to 1 run on 3 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 4. With the win, Baltimore upped its record to 71-69.
With Baltimore leading 3-0 in the top of the fourth, Taylor hit a changeup from Richard Mosley for a 3-run home run. It was his 24th home run of the season and put the Colts ahead, 6-0.
Taylor told a Baltimore Daily reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
