Las Vegas turned a good effort from starter Joel Camels into a win over the Utah Utes at Popcorn Dome. The final score was 4-2. Camels went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 3, and struck out 6. His record improves to 10-11. Jason Moore recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 5 for 6.

The outcome might have been different for Las Vegas, had it not been for Lloyd Braun, the 25-year old first baseman . Braun stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put Las Vegas up, 4-2. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.

"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Camels said.

The first-place Gamblers have a one-game lead in their division.
