Big Day for Matthews as Eyebiters Down Gamblers, 6-3

Mars catcher Chris Matthews made his presence felt in the 6-3 Eyebiters triumph over the Las Vegas Gamblers. Matthews was 4 for 4 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Fred Leonard got the win, improving to 2-1. He held the Gamblers to 2 runs on 4 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 5.

Mark Gamble helped out the Mars cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the third baseman was 2-4 with a double.

Gamble attributed the win to his team's "hyper resolve."
