Tight Tilt Goes to Gamblers, 3-2
|
Las Vegas picked up a win at Gambler Field, toppling the Phoenix Autobots, 3-2. Pitcher Roger Blackwood was one of the reasons the Gamblers triumphed. The winning pitcher was Blackwood, now 4-1. He tossed 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 5. With the win, the Gamblers sit at 84-63.
Draal Kanjigarson, who is a two-time All-Star, chipped in for Las Vegas with a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.
Afterward, Gamblers manager Ray Brooks was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
