Seagulls Slip Past Florida, 2-1
|
Toronto Seagulls starter Juan Nieto pitched a strong game against the Florida Penguins at Toronto Fields, leading the Seagulls to victory, 2-1. Toronto, at 70-76, occupies third place in the Major Conference Eastern Division.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Toronto right fielder Tim Noble, facing Orville Calhoun, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Seagulls the 2-1 win.
"It was terrific getting this win," Noble said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
