The New York Knights picked up a win at New York Grounds, knocking off the Mars Eyebiters, 3-1. On the mound for New York was right-hander Mark Stevens, who played a pivotal role in the win. The win gives New York a season record of 86-60.

In the bottom of the sixth, New York right fielder Michael Vaughn put his team on top. With two out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he hit his 30th home run of the year. Mars pitcher Mike Kelley served it up. Just like that, the Knights were ahead, 3-1.

"Mark was Mark," said Knights manager Gabriel Gonzalez. "We know what we'll get whenever he takes the mound."
