Gutierrez Slugs Colts to 6-4 Win
|
The Baltimore Colts downed the Toronto Seagulls, 6-4, at Ballpark of Baltimore. Jesus Gutierrez led the way, going 2-for-3 for Baltimore. Peter Johnson earned the win for Baltimore. He lasted 5.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 8. With the win, he raised his record to 13-12. With the win, Baltimore upped its record to 79-70.
With Baltimore trailing 3-2 in the bottom of the first, Gutierrez hit a splitter from Josh Hale for a 2-run home run. It was his 48th home run of the season and put the Colts ahead, 4-3.
"This team is real focused right now," said Baltimore manager Jason Sorensen.
