The Green Day Dukes defeated the Denver Rabbits, 3-2, in Major Conference action at Duke Stadium. Green Day pitcher Michael Simpson had a standout performance. Simpson picked up the win for Green Day, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 9-10. Sam Sherborne earned his 37th save in 39 chances.
Jon Fields drove in one run for Green Day. The 28-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Gregory Jones. It was his 56th RBI of the season.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Fields.
With the win, Green Day raised its record to 76-73.
