Mud Hens Suffer 3-1 Loss to Charlotte
|
Hawk Nest was the site of a tense game between the Toledo Mud Hens and Charlotte Hawks.
Charlotte beat Toledo on the strength of starter George Dixon's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 3-1. The Hawks, at 68-81, sit in last place in the Superior Conference Central Division.
The Hawks got a big at-bat from catcher Bob Baker. For the game, Baker went 1 for 4 with a triple. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Charlotte a 3-1 lead.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Baker.
