Hounddogs Pull Off Thrilling 5-4 Win in Extras
|
The Hawaii Hounddogs took Los Angeles pitcher Joel Fletcher's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Graceland Park. The final score had Hawaii getting past the Shockers, 5-4. Fletcher went 7 innings and allowed 4 runs, striking out 7. Elijah Tebow got credit for the win, improving to 8-4. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2 innings. Hawaii raised its record to 81-71 with the win.
Hawaii won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With one out and Will Jones on the mound for Los Angeles, shortstop Paul Blackwood hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Hounddogs fans to their feet.
"This place was electric at the end," Blackwood said.
