Metcalfe has 3 hits tonight, Ignites Portland Offense
The Portland Decepticons topped the Hawaii Hounddogs, 6-2, with first baseman Doug Metcalfe playing a big role. Metcalfe went 3 for 5 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 times and drove in 5 for the Decepticons in the win. The victory gives Portland a record of 77-75.

Metcalfe had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a first pitch fastball from Keith Fountain, he banged a grand slam home run to left-center, giving the Decepticons a 6-2 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Metcalfe.

Metcalfe attributed the win to his team's "hyper resolve."
