The Chicago Winds topped the Charlotte Hawks by the score of 4-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to catcher Leon Morales. Morales went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Winds on the day. Woody Francis notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record now sits at 1-1. With the win, Chicago upped its record to 77-75.

Morales had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 2-1 fastball from Matt Thompson, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Winds a 4-3 lead. It was the 15th home run of the year for Morales.

"The effort we put into this one paid off," Morales said.
