There was never a dull moment in this extra-length game between the New York Knights and the Las Vegas Gamblers.
New York got a strong outing from Mark Stevens as the Knights defeated the Las Vegas Gamblers, 2-1, at Gambler Field. Ernesto Cantu earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. He upped his record to 6-11.
New York used a clutch hit from Kenny Bowden to get the win. The first baseman drilled a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Knights ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said New York manager Gabriel Gonzalez.
New York raised its record to 76-75 with the win.
