Bonis, Winds Beat Spiders, 2-0
|
Wrigley Field was the site of a true pitchers' duel.
The Chicago Winds beat the Cleveland Spiders, 2-0, at Wrigley Field. Starting pitcher Silveran Kanan Bonis was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Cesar Gutierrez was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 14 of 22 save opportunities.
Jim Moore, the Chicago first baseman, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the third inning to make the score 1-0, Winds. For the game, Moore went 2 for 3 with 2 singles.
"I had pretty good command out there," said Bonis.
The Spiders, at 51-104, have lost 5 straight games.
