Decepticons Continue Skid, Thanks to Alvarado, Bandits
|
With left fielder Jose Alvarado leading the charge, the Bay Area Bandits defeated the Portland Decepticons, 8-2, at Bandits Park. Alvarado, who finished 5th in the MC in stolen bases with 43 in 2019, was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 4 times and drove in 2. Albert Anderson got the win, improving to 2-0. He worked 7.1 innings, giving up 2 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. The Decepticons drop to 5-10.
With Bay Area leading 3-2 in the bottom of the fourth, Alvarado hit a fastball from Jim Wilson for a 2-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Bandits ahead, 5-2.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Alvarado told the Bay Area Daily.
